Your Opportunity:

As a member of the MCH General Clinics Clerical team you will report to the Unit Manager and works under the direction of nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all the clerical needs are taken care of. The Unit Clerk is the first point of contact on the unit and ensures that patients are received and cared for, and their health records are up to date and accessible to the patient care team. This includes creating and maintaining the medical record, completing documents relating to admitting and discharge, arranging for referral/consult appointments and diagnostic tests and liaising with other hospital departments to share or obtain information. Description:

The Clerk IV provides complex clerical support. The Clerk IV performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Unit Clerks must have two to three years' related experience in Ambulatory Services outpatient clinics. Proficiency with Connect Care in an Ambulatory setting using registration, scheduling, template building, and referral management. Proficient using a variety of computerized software programs including health care related software, e.g. Net Care; lmpax; Microsoft TEAMS, others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service ability. Be able to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment. Must be able to prioritize and cope with numerous interruptions. Committed to patient customer service and team collaboration.
