Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Affairs, the Coordinator, Medical Affairs Operations is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the Medical Affairs Operations Portfolio, and Medical Education Program. This work is accomplished by managing and mentoring support staff, providing database management, managing critical communication to COV Physicians, managing the recruitment and onboarding services for operations, departmental and physician-based projects, and maintaining office policies and procedures. Working closely with the broader Medical Affairs team, this position will maintain an awareness of changes and challenges affecting the portfolio. This enables the coordinator to provide support to physicians, leadership, and the Medical Affairs portfolio that meets the CMO standards of efficiency and quality.
Description:
Coordinates and delivers strategic administrative and operational services to the Medical Affairs portfolio including development of efficient and effectual processes; day-to-day Medical Affairs office management for the Grey Nuns and Misericordia sites; leading staff members (direct supervision); project management; managing critical communications to physicians including email communications, website postings, and content management; supporting the performance of Covenant Health Medical Leadership through strategic involvement in various initiatives; manages the recruitment management systems scope for the department, assists the Medical Affairs Director with issues management on behalf of the CMO and ACMOs; along with liaising with internal and external stakeholders in carrying out the responsibilities of the Office of the CMO. This position is non-unionized.

Minimum Education requirement: Two years post-secondary education in business, health administration or similar. Minimum Experience/ Skills requirement: 5 years progressive experience in health administration, including medical affairs or corporate administration.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience within a medical affairs/physician environment. Experience in hospital setting, working with physicians and medical leadership groups. Experience leading and mentoring teams. Experience with (internal/external) databases and systems management. Experience with developing process and procedures. Experience with recruitment management systems. Highly self-directed and motivated – problem solver and competent at decision-making. Ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact. Capable of functioning in an environment of complexity, change and side project-based work. Strong communication (written and verbal). Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Management of employees in a union environment. University degree in areas such as Human Resources and Business.
