This team is looking for a Compensation Consultant to serve as a trusted partner in the delivery of client focused and best practice outcomes. The successful applicant will be agile, results oriented, and analytical as well as a creative problem solver, proactive communicator, and systems thinker. This position meets regularly with leaders within the organization to evaluate unionized and non-unionized jobs using the appropriate classification methodology and to provide consultative support services in matters relating to job design and preparation/revision of job descriptions. In addition, this position has to ability to work from home on a hybrid basis (3 days a week). Please note: Travel may be required and may include the use of a personal vehicle.

Description:

The Compensation Consultant reports to the Manager, Total Rewards and is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and advice to Covenant Health management regarding the design, development, monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of the compensation programs and related policy framework. This work includes providing job design & documentation advice, conducting job evaluations, assigning appropriate classification titles and/or pay grades, and performing large-scale compensation reviews to ensure that Covenant Health’s job evaluation & compensation practices are aligned with industry standards, internal equity considerations, and regulatory, legislative, & collective bargaining agreement requirements. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (e.g. human resources, management, commerce, business administration, etc.) and a minimum 2 years of professional level Human Resources experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. It is required that candidates have a familiarity with compensation, job evaluation/classification, and/or organizational design, to develop and propose strategies and/or policies. The successful candidate will be skilled at providing advice and presenting to any level of leader, will possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and will have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be able to function in an environment of complexity and change, able to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines, able to sit sedentary for extended periods, and able to effectively manage all interactions with composure and demonstrate assertiveness and professionalism in all communications.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to candidates with the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation. Experience in a large, complex, unionized environment including the interpretation of Collective Agreements and application of those agreements is preferred. Experience with HR Information Systems is preferred. Experience with Korn Ferry Hay Guide Chart – Profile Method is preferred. Familiar with research methodology and tools to design surveys and provide recommendations on issues is preferred.
