The incumbent will also facilitate the evaluation and adoption of evidence-based research outcomes into practice at the organizational level. Supporting the mission, vision, and values of Covenant Health, this position provides expertise and corporate leadership for Professional Practice in the Addictions & Mental Health area. The Practice Lead is accountable to develop, review, integrate, implement, and evaluate scope of practice, standards of practice, as well as provincial practice change initiatives across multiple service sectors, disciplines, and the continuum of health. A key function of the role is regular participation at the provincial level in decision making related to the practice changes with the view to enhancing quality and safety in clinical practice. The position facilitates the adoption of new evidence into practice at the organizational level by making effective recommendations to leadership, leading, and informing the development of clinical educational resources, and providing strategic guidance to implementation teams to ensure effective knowledge translation. The Practice Lead creates innovative best practice solutions to complex problems and responds to practice questions of staff and leaders. The Practice Lead role models effective collaboration and strategizes processes to support interprofessional practice among multifaceted teams. You would leverage your strong leadership skills to lead professional practice initiatives addressing provincial priorities and holding accountability for deliverables; Work with key stakeholders and other government ministries to align interprofessional practice initiatives with our organizational strategy; and Provide recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the services delivered. A bachelor’s degree in a related Health Sciences field is required with appropriate licensure and designation with relevant regulatory bodies, e.g., CRNA. A minimum of 5 years’ current acute care experience- three (3) of which were as a front-line health care provider and two (2) of which were as a clinical educator or team lead in a health service organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience leading interdisciplinary teams on large, complex projects and an interest in mentoring team members. Proven analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries. Proven ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships across jurisdictions both internal & external to the organization. Ability to work with a range of personalities. Strong leadership, and team building skills. Excellent presentation skills (planned and ad-hoc). Forward thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience representing a department or organization at the zone and/or provincial level. Certification in Adult Learning. Certification and/or experience in project management. Certification (Prosci) and/or experience in Change Management.
