Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Projects, the Research Coordinator coordinates multiple activities in support of research, implementation, education, public outreach, administrative and clinical support projects. The Research Coordinator will be proficient in all stages of project development and delivery, including: proposals; Research Ethics Board (REB) coordination; research participant recruitment; budget preparation; data collection, analysis, and stewardship; reporting; and knowledge translation. The role could shift focus based on the needs of the program and projects within it. The Research Coordinator uses evidence and best practice to inform individual work and contributions to the work of others. The Research Coordinator ensures project objectives are met through critical thinking and excellent discernment skills. The Research Coordinator performs duties within the Palliative Institute team with competence and professionalism, while demonstrating the mission, vision and values of Covenant Health.

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree. Minimum 3 years academic background in a research position (i.e. Research Coordinator/Assistant or another position within the research world) or equivalent required (i.e. experience conducting/coordinating research). Highly proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office software required. Proficiency in data management software such as SPSS and INVIVO required. Highly developed speaking and writing skills required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and communication skills. Ability to work with limited supervision. Thorough knowledge of Covenant Health, Alberta Health Services, Albertan Universities and Government of Alberta. Professional, highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Initiative and self-motivation. Clear business and academic writing skills. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and adhere to short timelines in completing projects. Professional tact, discretion and confidentiality. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time. Responsibility for proper operation of research and translational research projects.
